Herbs Remedies
"Herbal remedies can be defined as raw or refined products that are derived from plants or parts of plants such as roots, stems, leaves, flowers, buds, etc. and used for treating diseases or disorders. Examples of herbs that help with weight loss and associated medical conditions are many. Alfalfa, dandelion root, cinnamon, cardamom, Garcinia cambogia, green tea, hawthorn, Psyllium, ginger, garlic are herbs that have been traditionally used since long to maintain and reduce weight. According to Shirin Hasani-Ranjbar and colleagues from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, ‘Studies with Cissus quadrangularis (CQ), Sambucus nigra (black elderberry), Asparagus officinalis, Garcinia atroviridis (a large rainforest tree found in Thailand and Malaysia), ephedra and caffeine, Slimax (extract of several plants including Zingiber officinale (ginger)and Bofutsushosan [oriental herbal medicine]) showed a significant decrease in body weight’. They found that compounds containing ephedra, CQ, ginseng, bitter melon, and zingiber were effective in the management of obesity."
The herbs for weight loss are the natural constituents. Here are some of the herbal treatments which are extremely beneficial for weight loss and health.
1) Prepare Chutney of Mint Leaves. This must be taken with every single meal. It helps in the proper breaking down of the fats. Also begin your day with a cup of Mint Tea.
2) Vitamin C is very good for people who are looking to reduce their weight. Since Indian Gooseberry (Amla) is the best source of Vitamin C, it is good to eat three fruits of Amla every day. Also have a glass of any citrus fruit juice like Orange, Lemon, etc.
3) Green Tea is a remarkable weight loss herb since it enhances the fat burning ability of the body. The antioxidants and compounds of Green Tea are responsible for causing weight loss because the effect is an increased metabolic rate that stimulates the burning of excess body fats.
4) Bitter and Pungent foods are found to be effective in the control of weight and also preventing the dangers of Diabetes in obese people. Bitter Gourd and the bitter variety of Drumstick are beneficial in this aspect.
5) Ginger is effective in dissolving fat. Have it twice or thrice a day in the form of tea.
